I used to have a long, detailed section here discussing privacy issues. I can't imagine anyone would have bothered to read it, and I'm not a lawyer anyway.
Here are my privacy principles:
I've been accosted many times while out in the world photographing. If the person asking is polite, I am polite in return. If not, I tell him/her/them to call the police. Since no one enjoys looking like an idiot, and because I'm large and have what my kids call a "resting bitch face," I've not yet had anyone take me up on this suggestion.
I just want to take some pictures.
